98 tdi Disco head gasket fix help

Hi Guys yesterday I think I did a head gasket in my 98 2.7ltr tdi

it is using water very fast and there is no water dripping anywhere even under pressure which gets high fairly quick
the temp guage climbs fast as well
no discolouration in the oil or auto oil and no oil in the radiator
the reservior builds up a lot of pressure and it split last attempt at getting home
it is producing alot of gas which the racq guy said was a blown head gasket

next problem is I am stuck at Caloundra until it can be fixed so I need suggestions on a good fast mechanic that could look into it asap

    any help would be appreciated

    cheers

    Scott

I'd suggest a call to British Offroad at Forest Glen tomorrow. If they cannot fix it, they may be able to recommend someone.

How mechanically minded are you? With a few tools and a second hand head you could do a repair yourself to get it home if there is no damage to the bottom end.

Its not a hard job to do. Source a second hand head from a wreckers, new head gasket and away you go. Might need some attention later but if the bottom end is all good it will get you home no worries.
