I have a 3.9 ltr V8 on LPG, I had similar issues with power fading on hills when running on petrol, I did a full service, plugs, leads, dizzy cap, rotor button, and most importantly the air filter. You have to be careful with Airfilter, some fit box well and some dont, usually the ones that dont quite fit well will restrict draw. But with a good fitting one, it was a major improvement. I also run tyres a little higher than normal as the vehicle is heavy. Keep in mind they do like to rev, so dont be scared to feed it, and if that does not work, get a timing light and ensure that is set right, amatuers fiddle with the timing all the time and might get better idle but muck up high end timing curves.
