    oil addatives

    Could anyone recommend addatives and oils for diff transfer casa and auto when towing 2.8 tonnes with a td5 auto series 2 disco 1999.

    no requirement if the oil is good before you go you'll be fine

    Yup. Wouldn't bother with additives.

    Change the oil using a well known brand, and you should be set.

    Remember, the oil companies spend big $$$ developing these products, so the need for additives really is false economy.

    Just a quick question for people, how many manufacturers (Caltex, Mobil etc) of oils also make / recommend the use of an additive with their product?

    a couple of them do but only under very specific circumstances.

    No additives, just use a GL5 or a GL6 gear oil. These have better protection properties than GL4.
