SupporterAs described in another thread, I just stripped and serviced my XD9000 winch. Wound on the new Dyneema rope yesterday and all was fine up until the last (fairly quickly) and suddenly, all I can get is click click.
I've checked every electrical connection and can't find any short circuits however, since I drowned my multimeter with the previous car, I can't be 100% sure.
What I don't get is that it was working perfectly. Have I blown a solenoid? How do I check.

yep, the one down on the winch, you might also have a sticking brush down on the motor on some setups they do a wierdo funky earth return via the motor on the relays and if the motor has the wrong brush off contact it wont work even tho everything tests ok.

thats probabley where the earth goes eventually but I was talking about the routing of it through the brushes of the motor
