I did find the bearing pulley behind the viscouse fan had a pretty nasty wobble of at least 1mm as it rotates & sounds worse for wear. The little AC pulleys were also sounding pretty sandy.
Applying water to pulleys didnt do anything. Is it supposed to make it squeal more or stop?
I took some pics & video for sound... got to love the iPhone. Taking there sweet time down loading i'll attach them to another post.
I look forward to your view on my findings. Although i am leaning toward the crook bearing behind the fan. Oh i also put the original expansion bottle cap back on... as it only appears to drip when it cools off... cant hurt to try.

Dom, the bearing in the timing cover is a pain as technically you need to replace the entire cover and it's $$$$$
The problem is that SKF refuse to sell the bearing assy on the aftermarket.
Some have successfully used a Ford water pump bearing and made it work.
A bit of fiddling but it can save you a heap of money.
I'll try and dig up the appropriate thread/s.

Pity that your harmonic balancer cant be adjusted fore & aft. Would certainly solve a problem or 2.
I have attached a pic showing my belt on all its pulleys. The PAS pump seems rather far forward but the belt isnt riding up. Certainly would be the easiest cheapest thing to change.
But the timing cover bearing certainly doesnt sound happy & does wobble.. although at this point i am pretty tapped out.
I will definately take a look at the link posted.

I hear you, prior to my 3 pumps failing the original one worked fine:o I changed it looking for a mystery leak which turned out to be the head gasket but no-one could say for sure, and i didnt want to have the head done unnecessarily.Quote:
