    Help with interior lights

Just installed a replacement flip down DVD screen player in the rear of the Discovery (2001). The factory fitted unit had 4 wires battery, accessory, earth & door (for interior lights) and the new unit has the same 4 wires.

Connected it all up and now the built in interior lights on the DVD turn on when the door is shut & turn off when open. Is there a simple way to fix this?

    Thanks

Are the wire colour codes the same? And stupid question, did you double check they are connected correctly? Doors will either be a normally open or a normally closed circuit depending on how they are wired, most I've come across when the door is closed the earth is disconnected from the body so no light, when the door opens the earth is made and the light is on - if your screen is a direct replacement intended for your vehicles wiring it should be a straightforward thing to wire in, if it is an aftermarket one or something else they may have their wires crossed in the diagrams, or it may be designed to work with several different systems. Put a meter on your door wire from the car side and see if it is a positive or a negative signal, you may need to switch the door and earth wires because if they are both earths then it will never work.
