Rear Drive Shaft/Discovery ZF into Stage 1

    Hi guys

Just another question on this conversion im currently doing.

I have fitted a Auto out of Disco into a Stage One ute, and was suprisingly easy, compared to what I expected.

even all the gearbox mounts and everything lined up, bolted staight into the old Manual 3 hole configuration, in the chassis and everything, had thought there was no way it would fit.

The box sits under the existing tunnel, as im using aftermarket shifter, no mods needed or anything.

Front driveshaft straight in, but the rear has a male type yoke on the transfer case, and the driveshafts I have, are both male, at each end?

Was thinking if there was a spacer, of any thing that goes between them, as the don't really locate well, I can macine one up if not, but thought I would check 1st.

Also the driveshaft that came with the box had the 4 hole configuration at one end, which would fit on the rear diff, but has 3 holes at the other? Is there maybe an adaptor, or such that goes between here, and the tranfercase connection?

Could the rear output, be changed over to one from a manual, that has the female coupling, to mate with my existing driveshaft etc??

    Thanks in advance,

    Chad

That's a shaft for a rotoflex (rubber donut) coupling at the diff end.

Are your uni joints the same size? You could swap the flange off the disco shaft to your stage one shaft.

This is the end on my REAR PROPSHAFT, front and rear.

And this is whats on the transfer case also, at the rear. so no way of locating together, and keeping everything lined up.

Maybe I just need the connecting flange, from the rear end of the FRONT PROPSHAFT off a discovery 1?

The one that came with the conversion, went in fine at the front, and if this went on the end bolting up to the transfer case yoke, would fit by the looks of it?

Any other suggestions would be great.

I have rewritten this 5 times, trying to explain as best I can.

    Thanks again Bee Utey
