I would check that the handbrake is not dragging at all. This could be due to maladjustment, a sticking actuator, broken spring, sticking cable, bad cable adjustment, incorrect assembly, loose backing plate, but most likely, oil contamination from a leaking seal.
If the handbrake is dragging, this, combined with the inevitable slack in the driveline, will give the effect you note, and it does not take much.

 The clutch(complete with fly wheel ) was replaced less than 10000km ago. At the time, when it was replaced it had an intermittant shudder, this was explained away as they all seem to have this this drama
