Thread: 03 Defender wiper motor fault

Hi all

On MY03 Defender I have been having problems with the parking position of my windscreen wipers on all speeds. But now it is blowing the 15amp fuse. I pulled the plug off the motor, to see if it is a short in the wiring or the motor, then replaced the fuse, all OK, no blown fuse. Then plugged the motor back in and the motor started to work again. Now the motor works but after stopping in any position. (being running for a while.) will blow the fuse on starting.
I was thinking it may be the park switch but don't know what it looks like or where to find it. Could anybody help point me in the right direction please.

most wiper motors have the park switch inside the round wheel box at the end of the motor, should be a copper strip inside for the parking operation
