Don't know if this helps at all, but came across pics of the national luna intelligent solenoid and dual battery controller and these appear to be very similar to whats shown in the pics above.

Perhaps the pdf format instructions/information on the National Luna site will point you in the right direction regarding setup and usage?

Edit: There is a combined manual on the Australian distributors site.

    cheers

    Thanks OffTrack

Thats exactly what I needed. I wouldn't have known to look there because my unit has no brand name on it.

Before checking that site, I thought I might try reversing the lugs on the solenoid, incase whoever originally hooked it together put the AUX and MAIN the wrong way around... I think I may have been right, because that put the main battery's lights on the Left side of the monitor, not the right where it had been, and the instructions said that the main should be on the left.

The next very useful piece of info is that it takes 5 mins before it will start charging the second battery. I started it up after changing the lugs around and was disappointed it still didn't charge the second battery, but I only let it run for about 3 mins!

I will know tomorrow if it is all working now.

    solved

ok, here's an update for anyone else who ends up with the same problem.

    - the solenoid was kicking in (audibly) but there was no sign of aux battery charging.

    - the solenoid was actually not making full contact and thus not allowing voltage flow to charge aux battery.

I purchased a spanky new solenoid off... internet... for $30 after postage and wired it up just the same as the old one was, and yipee it works just fine now like a bran new one.

Very happy with this DBS now!
