    Discovery TD300 temperature problem

Hi, got home from tip today and temp skyrocketed, no warning, went from beautiful to blowing out steam, allowed the engine to cool, refilled coolant system as per manual, start engine, runs nice, put reservior cap back on and pressure builds up and water starts coming out of cap, also coolant line for Auto wore through, are they related or have we been welocmed to the world of blown head gasket?

You either still have air in the cooling system or as you have said welcome to the head gasket club.

A bit more info on the coolant for the auto statement. The auto would normaly have a line with auto transmission fluid going to a cooler and back to the auto. If this was worn through your auto would not work as low fluid would not allow auto to make pressure to allow auto to work.

    Leaking Auto Transmission

Auot had been delaying its engagement into drive and reverse from initial takeoff for a couple of days, and its really funny that we were aware of a leak in fluid somewhere when we took it into get Auto recently serviced. We bought our concerns to the Auto Mechanic, and it would seem our standard must have been higher than that of a professional! Too many mechanics think leaks are just part and parcel wuth the Landrover and will just glance and think "thats normal".
