Can you hear the fuel pump running?
If you can check/replace the fuel filter.
Milage on it?
Service history?
Call the previous owner and ask him if he knows whats going on.
I think i have bought a lemon disco 2. Yesterday driving home from work my disco V8 started to have a coughing fit, lost power etc. After about a minute or so it came good so i didnt think much of it, maybe water in the fuel. Got home ok, went to get back in it about and hour later, it started but ran very rough, and stalled when i even just touched the accelerator. now it wont even start, just turns over. I have done a bit of google research, so im lead to think its the fuel pump. Anyone have anyother ideas or also think its the fuel pump?

It does sound like a fuel pump issue.
There is no filter on the V8 other than the gauze piece on the bottom of the pump pickup.
If desperate, give fuel tank a couple of whacks with a rubber mallet. This sometimes gets them running for a while.
Otherwise, if there is no sound of life in the old one, I'd be looking for a new pump.

A faulty fuel pump hardly justifies calling the car a lemon.
exactly-
Just wait until the 3 amigos turn up, or leaking transfer case intermediate seals, or ACE leaks/ pump noises, Radiator leaks, Heater core, siezed caliper slider pins, timing cover and head gasket coolant leaks, exhaust manifold flange leaks, rattling cat converters, front tailshaft DC joint failure, MAF failure etc etc.
Sounds like a normal D2 age related fuel pump stoppage to me.
Sorry,
Actually they aren't all that bad, a good drive and suprisingly good on fuel for a V8 4x4. Just had to have a larf

Justin, From previous experience your diagnosis will probably be correct. Remember hiding disco at Orford behind trees.
