300Tdi viscous fan clockwise rotation?
Graeme Cooper gave me what he said was a 300 tdi viscous hub and blades when he moved shop many years ago. I have used it on my car and it is a lot quieter than the white fan on a 3.9 V belt engine.
He gave it to me because the 300Tdi it was off overheated with it on, as the VC had leaked a bit.
I would now like to buy a new VC and want to confirm that the ERR2266 300Tdi VC is actually what I have. I am doing this as I am now more certain that the fan and VC are sufficient for a V8, as helping FEV showed that the fan I have is what looks like an exact mirror image of the serpentine 3.9 fan, except the 3.9 has a 36MM nut.
It should have a LH thread and a 32MM nut size.
Anyone have a known ERR 2266 and can confirm it is LH thread and 32MM nut? The blades are ERR2789 which list as for a 300TDi.

I have a 300tdi & (previously)at the same time a v belt v8. May I suggest going for the proper hub, which is identical to the 300tdi but with a different part number (ETC1260). Whilst I swapped units between my v8 and spare tdi fan (ERR2266), with little difference (as you have found out), it seems appropriate that the v8 hub should be engineered a little different to account for the different operating temps and power curves of the petrol engine.
The changeover point is chassis SALL....LA081990. After that the serpentine v8 have the 36mm nut.
