    Hey Garry,

I did the injector cleaner trick when I first got the D3 3 months ago to no avail. It has been in Sydney for two weeks now at the workshop being sorted and I'm on no rush to get it back until it is sorted. I guess that is one bonus in having three Disco's, there is always at least one that is going well.

The D1 doesn't have a heater so there is no way I'm driving that at night in winter to Canberra I would be frozen stiff by the time I got there and back.

But as per usual the mighty D2 is going fine, got to love those bloody reliable but gutless V8's. So I am actually looking at coming down next Monday evening all other things being equal.

    Speak with you.

    cheers,
    Terry

You sook - when I first came to Canberra I had a series 3 as my every day driver and it had no heater and plenty of holes. I had it for a few more years before selling it to a 22yo nurse to go to B&S Balls in. It is still in Canberra somewhere.

Maybe some toughening up is required .

I'd rather be a warm sook then a freezing cold tuff guy.

Getting back on subject for a moent I'm taking it that because there are so few comments about the glow plugs and the hard starting on a TDV6 that is not a common issue?

    cheers,

I think you are right - my car has not been run for a few days - started with 1/2 sec of hitting the starter - basically started as soon as engine started to rotate. Temp in the garage was 1 at 11.00.

So have they managed to get the glow pugs out or have they all broken off - this as also a problem in the TD4 - the glow plugs often break off.

An update on the faulty glow plugs, several have broken off and they can't even budge a couple of others. To date they have only had luck removing one plug.

They have now notified me that they will need to take the heads off to fix the problem. Thankfully all of this is under used car warranty.

Any thoughts on anything else that is a replaceable part that fails that I could get replaced while the heads are off? Seams like a good idea given that often the labour to fit parts on a TDV6 is a very large part of any repairs. It has 98k on the clock.

    cheers,
