Not necessary Pierre. The pump runs at camshaft speed - a pretty fast 'pulse rate' - and the booster provides a fairly large 'reservoir' of vacuum to smooth out any pressure fluctuations. Even the small electric cruise control vac pumps are pulsating diaphragm-type pumps. Besides, what is a one-way valve going to do - where's any reverse flow going to come from? Ian

The D1 has a small ball-shaped vacuum reservoir for the cruise control, that is what was also fitted on the RRC for its (defunct) factory cruise. I found it and reused it. It shouldn't be hard to get one. The Rodeo turbo diesel I fitted cruise to didn't get a reservoir, I just tapped into the brake vac pump.

Today there were TWO 300TDi's here, one I'm working on and the RRC mentioned below dropped by. So it's really easy. The brake vacuum pipe is ended by a piece of rubber hose and a hose clamp straight on to the vac pump. Just pull off the hose & clamp, find a 40mm length of matching hose, a suitable tee piece and refit with the tee between the old hose and the short new bit. Easy really.

Followed your suggestion - job is done and unit is running perfectly. Heading to the Gulf next saturday:cool: - this will make the drive a lot easier.
