 D2 Auto Trans issue

Hi can anyone help with a diagnosis , my 2000 D2 V8i auto trans overheat light is coming on when 1. sand driving at low speeds, now it seems to be coming on in hilly country in High and Low, within 15 minutes despite cool days and minimal effort. It has never given me grief like this and there was no load, no more then ususal ( racks, bards, sliders, fridge etc)

I have had sensor replaced, oil replaced and gaskets all replaced. When I start highway or normal street driving no issue, ever not even on long trips (400km).

I was going to add a secondary trans cooler in the grill, (after recent Stockton troubles) however todays overheat makes me think that I may have bigger issues, it was only 15 minutes into some Nowra tracks.

Was thinking with maybe an electrical test required and then maybe taking it to a trans specialist in Sydney ...somewhere in the shire. Can someone help Im tired of having to head home when the boys are all out playing.

The vehcile has had nearly every component replaced over the past 5 years , suspension, engine, cooling, etc, trans is the only thing that effects my trips and the only thing not looked at closely. Maybe someone could suggest an order of process illimination to save in mechanic cost etc.

Cheers
Rod
