    F* stuffed it.
prop and tail shaft spinning but no drive.

Following a big *crack!* going up a hill.

suspect a combination of rear cw+pinion + front cv.

Maxidrive axles and MD diff lock in rear + maxidrive axles and HD CVs in the front.

...oh well, I guess I know what im doing next weekend.

Changed the headlight bulbs for some H4 +120's as low beam had blown on the drivers side.

Was only up your way a couple of weeks ago and probably just around the corner but wasn't Landy mounted this trip.

What vehicle did you do this to, and how do you like them?
I'm looking to get the "Truck Lite High Intensity" lights for my Puma, but want something better to do the job until I get them as a short term fix.

Set up a new temporary air intake on the D1 V8 so it's a little more water friendly. Then promptly proceeded to test it out on the railway service track behind our property - Big muddy bog holes and long rutted muddy sections.

Forgot why I was there and got a bit carried away, ended up about 20ks down the track and got home in the dark so photos tommorow

Now I know it works going to order some polished aluminium pipe and make it all again.

Slowly crossing items off the list.

Spring change was ok, but ended up using spring compressors and a bottle jack to do the change over. I discovered the diff lock switch is completely cactus. I locked the cdl while the disco was jacked up and forgot to unlock but didn't get chimes or dash light. The traction control firing off while doing a tight turn in reverse was a bit of a giveaway!

    The todo list:
    - Fluid change diffs, transfer case
    - Oil and filter change Td5
    - Fluid change power steering and ACE, replace rubbed PAS hose
    - extract stuffed torx screw, replace filter and do second fluid change on Auto.
    - Fit new dobinsons springs and koni heavy track shocks
    - replace faulty diff lock switch

Defender 130 300TDI. Haven't been for a drive with them yet, but just shining them against the shed door they are heaps brighter and should make a big difference on the road.

I will eventually go for the Trucklite Phase 7's but just needed to fix the blown globe and thought I may as well improve the lighting at the same time.

I've put on std +20mm springs so didn't need to do anything more than unclip the brake and abs lines from the body brackets. I guess with a 2" lift it would've helped to unbolt the calipers .

The springs are a definite improvement in the areas I wanted to fix. The front end was hitting the bumpstops over speed humps and the rear was wallowing in same situation even when lightly loaded. The ride is a little bit firmer than the old springs but not as jiggly as I thought it might be. I've gained about 35mm in ride height front and rear - fronts are right on the maximum standard height and the rears are about 2cm over. With a bit of load the rear should be spot on. The koni's finally arrived this afternoon so I have a few days to get them installed

I'm looking forward to giving the setup a bit of a work out over the next couple of weeks.

    cheers
    Paul
