Its been over 2 weeks of driving a donor "Hyundai"
* New CVs, swivel seals, bearings and pre-loads set.
* 1.2 transfer case is back in, the 1.4 just didn't do it for me.
* Still got the buggered MD axles in the back but just slapped on some front 24-spline drive flanges and they seem to be holding, that will hopefully tie me over until I can get some new ones.
* Pulled out the double cardinal prop shaft and put my old standard one back in, prefer to keep it simple (easier to fix on the side of the road if needed).
Next weekend I will be fitting new (2nd hand) rims, the Dynamics have got a bit boring so I scored some original RRC rims that have been trimmed down and put in 15x8" shells with a -22 offset. Something a little unique. Should do nicely
One of these days I might even get around to giving it a wash...
For now it just feels good to be driving it again
Fitted new stub axles, hubs, discs and calipers using Murray's (Rijidij) brackets for the rear disc brake conversion on my county, just got the booster and master cylinder to go.
Picking up the auto, new tfr casing, cross drilled shaft, one piece centre diff cross shaft, rebuild kit and hi capacity sump. Should be back on the road wed.
Extended my fuel tank breather using a 1/4" male/male brass barb, vacuum tubing to suit and used a lawn mower fuel filter at the end to stop any crap entering. I routed it up into the drivers side tail light area behind the plastic cover, made a couple of loops with the tubing and cable tied in place.
Tided up some of the bodgie wiring under the bonnet. Now in the process of putting a new head lining in the disco, am nearly half way through but have run out of contact adhesive so will be tomorrows project if work does not get in the way.
