Yesterday and this morning, fitted new Bailey channel to both doors of the 2a. Rather a fiddly job. I tossed up whether to take the door tps off to do it, and decided it would be easier to do in situ. In the end, not certain that was the right decision, but I don't think that there is a lot in it.
The steering box on my D1 disco is leaking from the bottom seal. it looks the same as my spare from a defender but i am unsure of the ratios of the boxes, i did think the defender had a larger steering wheel and that is the difference. Can the bottom seal be replaced in the vehicle?
Removed the injector wiring harness (Td5), sprayed connectors with MAF Cleaner & hit them with compressed air.
Refitted & I'm now running on 5 cylinders again - According to the Nanocom # 5 had decided not to perform a few days ago.
Did a similar fix about 5 years ago & am still using original (15 year old) harness.
Rigged for winter running 16 deg this morning so removed the heater inlet blanking plate [biggrin]
What??? They have winter in FNQ??? Who would have thunk it?

Well bit of a revival.. today i took my s3 109 for a drive. Went to Gawler via the expressway. All good. 110kmh. Great. Just turned off at the Gawler exit, slight wobble in front. Heading down main north road into Gawler, pop. Steering pulled violently to the right. Flat tyre. Blowout. So parked on the side of the road jamming the left front against a drain as a chock. Hand brake on. Got the disco 1 jack out that i picked up at u pull it. Looked new. Never been used. No scratches underneath it. Jack up the vehicle a little bit and loosened the very tight wheel nuts. Jacked it up a bit more. Jack failed. All the oil came gushing out the top where the second stage comes out. NOT HAPPY. So stuck on the side of a main road with no jack. LOTS of ppl just cruise past, including a disco sport, posh *****. Then i stand amased... a Defender just drives straight on past. Didnt even wave. What happened to the land rover cameraderie? Not like he could miss a big yellow s3 sitting almost on its chassis at the RHF. Well a Toyota driver stopped and got his jack out and helped me out. Thanks Craig!! Spare on, went to servo down the road a bit and pumped it up a bit. Now back home and disapointed in land rover drivers.

Agreed Rod, very uncool by the Defender driver. ...did you wave to them?
...benefit of the doubt? maybe they may were in a real rush? ...or no excuse? they should have stopped no matter what?
