Went down to the village in the 2a with a couple of grandkids, to get the mail and dump the rubbish. Also filled the LH tank - 47l, which, considering it holds 45, suggests I got maximum use out of it before changing over!
On the way down, windows and vents open as it was a bit warm, great consternation when a butterfly came in the window and got trapped in the spiderweb in the corner of the windscreen. It broke free and I opened the driver's door for a moment to let it out.
No1 did the gates (7) on the way, with No3 sitting in the middle. On the way back, No1 in the middle while No3 did the gates. I had to get out and help with the catches on two of them, and for these No1 drove through the gate.

Nice John...reminds me of the old days of being the farm-gate-opener for my Grandad.
Yesterday i had to fit a new leg on my old school roof rack on the s3. It met with a tree branch sticking out while reversing up someones driveway. Just bent the leg no other damage other than a nick in the bark of the tree. Lucky it missed the roof corner.

Modified roof rack legs - replaced hex head bolts with countersunk head bolts and fitted new side awning.

With tent attachment, which also has a heavy duty zip in floor which, as I very seldom use a tent, I probably won't use very often, if at all.
Fixed a faulty connection on the Defender's rooftop solar and now it seems to be charging fine.
Got a scare when the folding solar didn't seem to be charging the battery in the camper. Found the positive terminal was loose and tightened it, so now I'm monitoring it to make sure it's right. Battery is giving varying readings, but I hope it will recharge OK. Need it to work properly as we're camped for a week.
