On the 110, welded a crack in the front diff housing (on the weld on the pan on the front). Changed the fan belt - not particularly easy, as the new belt is very stiff.
Also replaced the hazard light switch. This is the second time I have replaced it - last one lasted about ten years, and was probably switched no more than once or twice. Not good for something that cost $95 to replace.

Which part of it broke John? Plastic or Metal?
John, I replaced the hazard light switch on my Perentie a while back as it had failed and was causing faults in the indicator circuit etc. After a bit of searching on the net I ended up getting one (new) on E-Bay for $37 postage inclusive. Not sure how long it will last and I doubt it will ever get switched on. I have also more recently had to replace the main head light switch which I found for a similar price.

It has metal in it? The first one just fell to pieces - plastic disintegrated leaving me without turn indicators. This time it locked up solid. They are not designed to be disassembled, although I will try to repair it, but after the first one I am afraid that it is unlikely to be repairable. I felt it was necessary to have a replacement before I tried, as without the switch installed the blinkers don't work.Quote:

John, the one I got may only be cheap rubbish and fail in no time at all.
Whilst your switch is "genuine Lucas" keep in mind, Lucas didn't invent "darkness", they stumbled on by accident! ;)

Got it dirty!! After about four months of being either on the highway, or too tired, or too slack, Winter Wombat approached, so I got the head and timing belts back on, found all the bits and pieces that have been moved around and refitted them, and crossed my fingers.
The first run was to head up to Wombat, where the car didn't miss a beat. Boy, was I surprised. Never have I done a job in such a ramshackle manner, and the Disco performed beautifully.
