Do you still have the oil bath on it John?
How many miles/kilometers does it have on the odometer?
Cheers, Mick.

Went to Dick Smiths and bought a lead with earphone plugs on both ends to connect the iPod directly to the Defender's sound system, instead of using the wireless transmitter, which was having a lot of static.
I was quite amazed at how much better the music from the iPod sounded with a direct connection. I had thought the sound system wasn't much chop, but with a direct connection it's actually quite good.
Only problem is the earphone plug doesn't keep the iPod charged, so I'm going to leave the radio transmitter plugged into the base of the iPod just so it gets power.
Also had a phone conversation with Off Road Systems to finalise the details for a drawer set which I hope to order next week. Can't wait - it will be such an improvement on having stuff floating around everywhere. Also hoping to fit an AGM battery behind the drawer under the deck rather than having a battery box strapped down.
Then I can move on to other things on the wish list...
Still has the oil bath aircleaner - I see no reason to change this.
Speedo says 22,000km, but remember the speedo on these only goes to 100,000. It has done about 70,000km since I fitted the metric speedo, at which stage the speedo said 34,000miles. It is just possible that was the first time, but very unlikely. It had a new (recon) engine when I bought it in 1990 (or thereabouts!).

Finished service on the 2a, just got to fill out a windscreen sticker (courtesy AULRO) and replace the one on it, and check the lights.

Went outside, looked at the old girl. Got some tools out, loosened the front free wheel hubs. Too bloody hot so went back inside and put tools away. Maybe tomorrow or the next day or the next day or......
Cheers Rod:wasntme:
Fitted a Sy-klone precleaner with nugget stuff adaptor . Had meant to do it before our last trip, but it's done now.

Also refitted the second battery, that will have to come out again to give me room to work on tidying up the electricals, fitting new fused block etc in the near future.

Not the Landy but put some new tires on our Honda quad bike.
These new tires are tied in bundles after they are made and consequently the beads are pulled together tightly..making it a hell of a job to get them to seal on the rim as a tubeless tire. I even inflated old tubes inside the tires for about 2-3 weeks before I fitted them in order to get the tires to spread. This still wasn't satisfactory, so today I tried the "Butane Trick" that I had seen on "youtube" some time back. I used Aerostart instead, just a liberal spray inside the tire then wave a match near it!
Presto! Both beads popped onto the rim.
Cheers Mick.
Pulled both the MAF and MAP sensors and cleaned them with the aerosol MAF cleaner.
No real noticeable gain in power, but it seemed more responsive, and struggled much less on hills.
Will get a better idea tomorrow on the run out to the 4wd show in Wandin.
Sent from my GT-I9305T using AULRO mobile app
Fitted a trailer onto the towball and went to the dump.......
......and cam straight back home cause I had ten tyres to dump and they wanted $4.50 to dump each one.
I will cut them up into my recycle bin where they will be recycled for free.
Tidied the rear cross member on the series 3. (Ron)
It's been crappy looking since I got it, 7 years ago.. Lol.
First coat shown, I'll finish it in a satin paint - all KBS products.
