What sort of flow rate and pressure are you running for your winch?

Does your control valve have a built in pressure relief valve?

where will you mount your hyd reservoir?

here is my CAV and hyd return line filter positions. Hyd solenoid control valve will be to the right of the filter. Oil cooler for R380 far right side of cab.

Serg I decided for the amount of winching I would probably do and the fact I have two 130 ah batteries under the dogcaro and a 13000lb electric winch fitted I would forgo the hydraulic winch for now .It would be fairly easy to fit a couple off quick disconnects and swap hoses if I change my mind as no room for a double spool valve The spool valve has a relief valve The compressor pumps a 750x16 tyre to 24 lb in 90 seconds at about 1100 rpm in 5th gear

Made a support arm for the alternator bracket on the rangie to stop the bracket deflecting when the belt was tensioned.


Got out of the wet and cold of the shed........went inside and had a beer in front of the fire :)

Yesterday - 570,000km service on the County.

Found no problems I didn't know about, except clutch fluid is down slightly - I think I have a sleeved m/c ready to go in, though. I know about the dodgy sway bar link, and have a new one to install, just got to do it.

RH swivel low (10mm) on oil, but it is not the one leaking - the LH one, which is, was slightly overfull! Diff was at level, despite slight leak.

Replaced the transmission fluid on the Disco TD5. So far feels much much better. And hasn't jammed in 1st at traffic lights anymore.

Was a nice day so put the boat in and went fishing. It's all my S1 does now days is to tow the boat to the water and back. Brakes are shot but the round trip is only about 200m. Fishing was crap.

Currently in Illustrator reworking the geometry of a tyre-carrier that my dad made for the County. Think I've found a way to salvage the design with minimal cutting and welding.

He found some plans online and misread them pretty royally.

Replaced the LH rear sway bar link. That should fix the noise at the back - it definitely needed replacing!

Four wheel balances, a tyre change around and a wheel alignment, I may have significantly reduced the vibration at 100 km/h. Find out tomorrow.
