Fred put one wheel, then another and then another out on the big road today, away from the little farm where he had slumbered for the last eighteen months, I drove Fred for about half an hour each way this afternoon and the trip was very relaxing, nothing to report at all for the trip-- good.
I have made a list of things to complete and found a few more to add as well.
The window scissor lift mech for the passenger front to be reinstalled.
That doors latch actuator to be replaced after it was borrowed for a customers job.
Sender for the temperature gauge is open circuit and a replacement is needed.
Flush out the plain water then fill with 50 / 50 coolant mix.
Check out why the air conditioner pump isn't working.
As Fred is registered as a seven seater and hasn't had the rear seats fitted for a long time, I was given these today from Graham, ( mates rates, thanks there Graham ).
The ABS warning light is staying on continuously, will check the wiring to the wheel sensors tomorrow and adjust the sensor up to the grate.
Adjust handbrake a little tighter.
Rubber floor mats, seat covers and a dash protector.
Look at fitting the cargo barrier up behind the folded middle row seats.
.
Repaired the leaking fuel pressure regulator on my TD5 D2. $56 on ebay for the Bosch part (diaphram bit) plus $10 worth of o-rings and it's fixed. Beats the $380 odd for the whole regulator block!
Replaced wiper blades, fitted headlight guards, replaced a missing bonnet lining clip, replace broken headlight washer jet, replaced leaking camshaft seal - did this 11 months ago with a supposedly quality pattern part using genuine this time around, replaced missing screws in front guard liner, reinstalled clic-r clips on the fuel cooler - giving the new clic-r pliers a bit of a work out
Fred is running good but the list is still a bit long.

Not a job for the feint-hearted, but it worked!!! one of the non-adhesive ribbon cable replacements - it was like micro-surgery.
If it goes well over the next few months I'll have a go at the instrument cluster lcd ribbon next.
Cost me around $35 from the UK.
