If you can't fix it with a hammer , you got an electrical problem .......

Pulled diff this eve, ready for ATB. Good thing as one planetary gear damaged. Two pairs of two teeth, damaged, 180deg out . Weirdness.
Tomorrow, drop off diff, remove bar and rotate winch gearbox, fit engine mounts. Pick up diff, refit diff.
Yesterday, started her up & gave the engine a bit of time to lubricate.
Today I drove mine
Took it to the mine site![]()
R&R radiator, water pump, thermostat, viscous fan, coolent, alternator and serpentine belt!
This weekend I'll be sound deadening the 110. a complete work over from the seals on the bulkhead flaps to gap filler seals on the doors to butyl and closed cell sound deadening sheeting in the cabin. If i have enough deadener I'll do the hood lining.
The wife refused to yell over the wind noise on a recent trip from Newcastle to Sydney, prompting action.
If i can get my hands on a noise (db) meter i'll record the improvement with each modification and post a comparo report. Reluctant to pay $100 to buy a meter for the sake of an experiment.
might even find a few coins to offset the cost of the material.
enjoy your weekend, MLD
db apps for smart phones available, ok might not be perfect but enough for a comparo and to show her it's better.
Yep, 2.5 hrs of silence from the wife. 2.5 hrs of noise from the other loved one. The seals on the bulkhead flaps are 'ted'. Must admit the noise is unbearable at highway speed. I don't want it Lexus LX570 silent, but i'm hoping for an improvement to cabin comfort.
