Finally found a centre row seat for the IIA wagon and fitted it. The IIA now looks like a station wagon again!

    Circuit complete

'Fred' still has smoke installed, therefore can run when required.
Went looking for possible portals passing puffs of pea soup particles.

Connection! A contact was sticking in the driving lights' relay, change completed along with a new fuse container for circuit continuity.

Checked the alternator charging voltage into the battery and found there was some fast deviation of the said voltage.

So folks! It's wire wiggling time, tried allsorts of maneuvers, culminating in the discovery that heat had loosened the crimp lug for the alternators B+ terminal.

A job for the morrow, will remove old lug, clean the copper wire, twist the strands tight, crimp a new lug, solder the exposed end and finish with a sleeve of heat shrink tube.

    Pulled apart the centre console.
Gave the underside a good vacuum out, investigated the loose window switch panel and found it held in place by a dob of sikaflex the size of a matchbox instead of the screws

Cleaned it up and put it back together.
Didn't even smack myself in the head pulling the shifter knob off

Busy day on the 130 today... Rebuilt starter motor, rebuilt alternator, removed intetcooler and flushed, removed radiator, removed heater core(oh fun)... What the hell... Lets order a timing belt kit..funny thing is that all I really had to do was straighten a rim and trailing arm.. I think I got sidetracked

straighten a rim and trailing arm.

Just a tip - NB32 Heavy tube slides just nicely over stock rear trailing arms and with some MIG glue will make those rear arms bomber

Moved it to tidy the car port, noticed a red stain
Some investigation showed a nice slosh of coolant down the engine mount (Still collapsed ) and onto the diff.
Fuel cooler o-rings, means its getting cold.
I'll keep my eye on it and get some new o-rings after the easter break.

I think we can add a few more posts. And yes, it is a good one.

Removed my broken CDL cable on the D2. Now starting to reinstall, what a pain.

And I also didn't hit my head with the gear knob, what a silly design...

    Cheers

I reckon it's more likely the hose has been disturbed when the car was worked on. Mine started up shortly after replaced some of the radiator hoses.

Make sure you get some r-clic pliers unless you want to end up with hose clamps holding the cooler together. You can install 2 o-rings at each end for extra security.

    Cheers
    Paul
