'Daisy' needed different springs as it has a pull to the left, so as the new tyres and a wheel alignment get done tomorrow, this afternoon I dragged myself away from pulling the wet sleeves out of that Fergy TEA20 engine, they are jammed tight with rust in the water jacket --- but that's another story.
Knowing the new tyres were due to arrive any time, I dropped into JC's workshop grabbing the first set of springs I saw and then shot through.
The first spring I pulled was the RHS front and had the colours yellow and white,
I'm heading out to the garage again tonight and will be very curious to see what colours there are on the LHS.
.
I've been adding some sound/heat insulation, and it DOES make a difference in both aspects. I used Roadkill Stinger Extreme. It took 1 box of 9 sheets and 1 other sheet to do this so far. Just have the back door to go and then I'll start the front.

Well 'Daisy' now has five new Goodyear SUV 235-70-16 tyres, a replacement set of standard springs; RHS grey grey, LHS brown brown ( the front were the wrong ones being; RHS yellow white, LHS orange white ) and a wheel alignment ( no adjustment necessary as it was 1.1 mm toe out, of the toe out range 0 - 2mm ) and a grease, oil and oil filter change ( next service to be done at 545000 ).
Drove 'Daisy from Broadmarsh where Denise and I live, to Launceston, to attend the Induction of 26 women into the 'Tasmanian Honour Role of Women' Department of Premier and Cabinet . Then home again, back via Toomes Lake, 'Mt Morriston' and 'Lemont'. 'Daisy' the D1 now rides a lot better, but now has a slight tendancey to pull to the right as opposed to the firm pull to the left with the previous springs set, a new set of suspension rubbers now required I feel.

Finally got the chance to install an EGT in the disco today. getting the angle right on the manifold blanking plate was probably the most difficult part.
I made a new manifold blanking plate out of 5mm plate rather than modifying my original (just in case I stuffed it up).
Tonight I will work out the best mounting position for the digital gauge inside the cabin, I want it to look just as tidy as the TM2 temp gauge. (which fits perfectly in the disco in-dash coin compartment with about 1-2mm trim)
Installed the traxide headlight loom upgrade. The difference is like night and day. Literally. The only problem is the left hand side light is dimmer than ever and only low beam works. Will have to go hunting for dodgy connections tomorrow.
Replaced drivers window motor and regulator. Hot tip - aftermarket motors from rimmers have electrical plug that don't match the original!
same here, one issue though, madman sent out a manifold blank pre-tapped plus two new bolts. i noticed one bolt was longer than the other but thought no more until it sheared off in the manifold. then the screw remover piece snapped in the hole whilst trying to remove. drilled it all out and put a bolt through.
tomorrow need to finish the wiring.
