Yesterday I did my first ever service on the Phantom
Seriously, what ****ing bright spark put the primary oil filter where it is on the Td5
Running very smoothly now, so I'm pleased.
Just needs a nice clean on the inside and it's all good![]()
Yesterday did the dirtiest job of all,yes even worse than CVs.That is cleaning out the TD5 inlet manifold prior to fitting the EGR bypass.....black and oily as!
With the manifold removed, other jobs became obvious...engine mount,couple of hoses looking tired....may as well fit new FPR[Murphy's Law]Put anti seize on the starter motor nuts as a precaution,whilst I can get to them easily.Oh hell,change all the rad hoses and both engine mounts....should there not be some O rings for the FPR...I have the gasket.Ffff!
drove back from tamworth (where i spotted several yards full of landies) to port macquarie
Removed EGR valve on L322, disconnected battery for 16 hours to reset everything, reconnected battery and it drives like a dream. Jim
