does anyone have a copy of Landrover Monthly i think it was sept 1998 where Tom Sheppard (of the Landrover book fame and expidition guru, ex LR engineer) talked openly about the short comings of the current LR def's of the time, he also showed pictures of his own 90 that he had customized, fresh air vent at roof, Transfercase shifter gate, tie downs in cargo area, and had intsalled a disco binicale in place of the def...

Yep, I loved that one too, at least on the photos it looked great and Tom Sheppard certainly knows a thing or two about equipping vehicles. I wanted to do a similar conversion, until i spoke to someone who had seen Toms Defender in the flesh and noted it did not look quite as good as on the pics. Apparently there is more involved in fitting the dash, not just straightforward plug 'n' play. So I am still waiting for a practical solution...

I have seen one or two early defenders with a puma dash which looks quite good.
