Looking for high temp slit loom
While replacing a warped exhaust manifold I've discovered that the slit loom tubing on the exhaust side of my TD5 engine has reached a point where it disintegrates as soon as you touch it.
I'm planning to replace before the wiring suffers any damage, but I am a little concerned about the temperature rating on the tubing jaycar etal sell. Is it possible to get 150degC rated slit loom in Australia without buying a full roll??
cheers
Paul

Rather than stay with plastic, look for some stuff made from the woven material that is the same as the exhause wrap. I have some that is tubular and has a rubbery coating and you can put your finger in it and touch the manifold for a few seconds before it starts to become too warm. You can also get it as a sewn version that is silver on the outside or just get exhaust wrap and sew it up.
