Here's a 22sec video someone emailed to me showing how.

If it involves fire, I've done that trick using deoderant to seat the bead on a tyre that wouldn't seal. The 'drift' crowd use it to stretch tyres across overly wide rims.

And from what I've seen, deodorant or insect repellent is much more effective than WD40.

So it stands to reason that almost any pressure pack aerosol could be used for this application ?

Yes, I carry hairspray to keep my flowing locks in check & it doubles up as a bead reseater too .

Cheap hairspray was the propellant of choice for the old potato gun, back in the day.

take the Valve out first or it can suck it back off once the air cools

Valve out might explain why in the video it sounds like air escaping from the tyre after it's been reseated. Point noted!

Hairspray! ... I carry a can with the coleman dual fuel lamp for spraying on the mantles ... now also for bead re-seating

... and looking my best 1st thing in the mornings

Reckon this would work with a D2 alloy rim with that bead retaining lip ?

I'd say it works best on big balloon tires and not regular jobbies. We tried to re-seat a tire onto a quad bike using this method and ended up ruining the bead of the tire!
