From doing mine at the moment. They are riveted on, so grind off the back and you can remove the stud. I then plan to weld them back into place, hence another good reason for them to be made of brass and not plastic
This is a D1 window regulator pictured with the replacement MaxiDrive Brass Roller.
How the hell does the stud remove? Is it spot welded or riveted or cast or threaded.... or?? Stupid question I realise but I cant work it out.
Do I need to drill it out and just bolt the roller on?

Cheers. I just ground the back off altogether and tried to punch the stud out but it doesn't move. Looks like it'll need to be bolted on.
Which is a shame considering I could have done a crap arse bunnings roller job for quarter of the price.
they DO come off; after grinding it you can rotate it with pliers or vice grips a bit, then punch it through using a pin punch and LARGE hammer.
Then reassemble and weld
Very good set up IMO

Recalling from when I did mine ages ago I replaced the broken roller with an assortment of adequately sized washers that simply could slip over the stud and secured them in place (IIRC) with a little clip. Works a treat ever since. I did not have access to those fancy brass rollers, did not even know these existed until reading this post.
Cheers

There are people who spend all weekend cleaning the car.
And there are people who drive Discovery.
You can bolt them on with a bolt and a nylock nut. you don't need a wheel either, a small square piece of plastic kitchen cutting board material, bolt and nylock nut with a can be fashioned to run along the slide, Did mine 8 years ago on a D1 still going
