New fuel regulator or do I try a seal kit first

Hi all, well I seem to be developing a slow diesel drip from the fuel regulator and after searching here for a while I see a number of seal kits on ebay and discussion. I'm quite handy with the spanners so do I attempt gasket and all seals first as I see some have tried. There is a gent on ebay selling a complete seal kit for the 2 and 3 versions so you cannot go wrong and about $28 landed of aus.
I've repaired my own fuel cooler with new o rings and was glad I did that as easy as so I suspect the fuel regular will be the same doing. The worst past is from under the vehicle looking upwards you can see the drip but cannot tell if from gasket, or diaphram seal as fuel has a nice habit of spreading itself around.
So I guess the question I have is that lately, a lot of posts tend to say that it is worth it given the seals, like the cooler tend to give and not the diaphram itself. Would this be the case or still pot luck.
Thanks in advance, Geoff

					I assume TD5 ?
Change the regulator.
It is a LOT of frustration to go through the remove & install process only to find out you need to do it all over again. I did the same thing.

Thanks for this and I had another look from under the car while at idle. So I guess the test will be whilst the car is running to put your finger on the vent hole of the regulator (diaphram itself) as from looking further, if the diaphram is gone then you will have a build up after releasing the finger whereas if from gaskets and seals then it would just keep driping with finger on as would be bypassing a seal. Will have another try today when she cools down as from the pics this test might help a few decide on car if the diaphram itself is stuffed. Mind you I gott get a life and hopefully there is only one drain hole on the diaphram from the pics. Will see if I'm successful at this.

Changed the o rings and gasket on my fuel pressure regulator on the weekend. So far it seems to have fixed it. The old o rings on the hose connections and over the filter that slides into the block looked pretty had it. Cause money is tight for me $20 for gasket and orings was better than $300 for a new fpr. And if it does **** itself again I recon I could do it in half the time, second time around.

Okay, worked out mine is the diaphram unfortunately. From under the drivers door looking from the rear up to the unit you can easily clean the bowl and put your finger on the air single air vent. Whilst idling it only took a minute or two for the pressure and fuel to build up so its a new regulator for me. Perhaps this can be the test as there is no other reason for fuel coming from that vent. Did a quick search and ordered on for $100 pound all up delivered express air-mail for the two hose early version.
