    1,2,or 3 Hole Head gasket - TD5?

I know they come in 1,2,or 3 hole, but it is not immediately obvious to me what I have. Specifically, where are the hole(s)?

Im tipping this means I have a 1.....

Below the coolant outlet housing on the cyl head. you will see a tab with 1,2 or 3 holes.
    Cheers

Td5 head replacement with a AMC head.

My old 6/2002 D2 with just over 300,000k's started filling the sump with diesel, new O-rings and washers didn't work, so it's a cracked injection port in the head. Given the age etc of the D2 it was going to sell it whole or scrap for parts. I only use it now for local work. I had no takers for the complete car at a reasonable price, and SWMBO said no car is going to be wrecked here. I started looking for a head, not cheap! then I ended up with a head for $700 off E-bay. when I went to Sydney to pick it up it was fully setup with reco injectors, new glow plugs and injector cable; and to top it off it was a AMC Head, and he threw in a new dash mat, some gaskets and a intake manifold . The story was he had replaced the head , but had only gone just over 400k's from home and did a big end , so he replaced it with a complete second hand engine.

    I'm thinking the head won't need a skim ?

The photo's attached are the head as picked up, no work done to it. My D2 has a 2 hole gasket at present, should I keep to this or get a 3 hole gasket as most just use this one now ?

    What would you do ?

The head gasket should be the same all the time unless the crankshaft, pistons or connecting bores were changed then measurements are needed to choose the proper one

Laurie yes all td5 heads req a skim to remove the sealing marks from the head gasket.
