Memory seat ECU
Replaced the little battery in the memory seat ECU on my 94 soft-dash classic last week. Previous symptoms had been that I could store memory positions but they would disappear overnight. The seats and mirrors went through the self-test dance without issue when prompted.
Since taking out the ECU, replacing the battery and then refitting the ECU and the seat, I have a new problem. The seat will no longer go through the self-test procedure; when I press the white button 5 times then 2-1-1-2, absolutely nothing happens. Memory functions aren't working at all. Also the left-hand mirror does not move in the horizontal plane at all; I can hear the relay clicking in the ECU but no movement. Everything else works okay manually, i.e. seat motors and RH mirror all move with the switches.
Workshop manual on CDROM states that the seat should perform the self-test once the ECU is initialised.
Question is, having had the ECU out and replaced the battery in it, do I need to initialise it, and if so, how is this done? Can't find anything on this on my CD.

Bit red faced now, I've just pulled the seat out again and discovered I had not pushed the main harness plug all the way home. Everything seems to be functioning correctly, including the self-test, seat memories and LH mirror. Remains to be seen whether it stores the memory positions overnight, which was the reason for the battery change.

Thought I'd follow this up; seat memory functions are now working correctly
. Electrical manual states new ECU required to fix this fault; instead a new battery for $25 from battery world, plus about an hour's work to remove the ECU, install new battery and refit. Plus another half an hour a fortnight later to unbolt the seat again and plug the stupid harness in properly.
