I've got a genuine one sitting in a box here waiting to go in to my PUMA. Looks like any other fuel filter to me!

What made it such a piece of crap for you? The filter, or the actual job of replacing it?

I also think the filter leaves a lot to be desired. The outer lip of the filter is quite wide and exposed to the elements and fills with mud etc. I replaced mine at 9 months and 10,000kms and it was quite rusty around the top lip.

    filter twist

    Hi td5130

I'm not familiar with how the TD5 filter is mounted, but could the bracket be remounted sideways, so the filter is rotated 90 degress, then the muddy stuff can drain out of the lip ?

    Cheers Arthur

300TDI motors use a standard Bosch filter available from any truck/bus spare spare parts. A lot cheaper than "LANDROVER" stamped ones. check to see if your original is a Bosch one and get the number and go to a truck spares place.
