Sounds like a good outcome. Doing the job without a torque wrench or similar is not advisable as I have discovered first hand.
The w@ankers who rebuilt my engine just prior to xmas last year have cost me another rebuild & another crank. The pr1ck who put it together used a rattle gun to tighten the bolt, it can loose spun on the crank whilst I was deep into the desert. The balancer spun on the crank badly and has worn & taken gouges out of the crank as well as causing the engine to overheat due to the water pump not turning fast enough, the water on the temp sensor side of the engine was cool & the temp looked fine but inside it was roasting, the way I found out was when it blew the bottom radiator hose off.
Not a good day out in the desert, & I wont go on about how they also f#cked up the cam timing causing the inlet valves to dance on the pistons or some of the other blunders they had.
