    IIA 2.6 into a III

Anyone know if a 2.6lt engine from a IIA can be dropped into a 2.6 SIII station wagon. Would there be any issues which would prevent this or would it be a straightforward changeover?

Any advice would be appreciated, before I start ripping everything out.

G'day All, I'm no expert (come to think of it, that's correct LOL) but I couldn't see any problems with the engine swap, maybe a few minor things like wiring, as I'm assuming the S2A could have a Generator and the S3 will have an Alternator.
The clutch/pressure plate could be different as the S2A has a different release mechanism, you might need to get a hold of a S3 type clutch/pressure plate.
Maybe carburettors and fuel lines could be different, I think the exhaust will be the same, I'm sure if I'm wrong someone with more intimate knowledge will correct me, cheers Dennis
ps anyway it;s nothing that can't be overcome,,.

I have all the III fittings to go on it alternator etc. I cant see much of a problem. As with all LR's I'll just hold my lip the right way when fitting
