    diminishing brake performance

    i reckon my brakes are not as effective as they used to be.....

    i cannot remember the last the the system was flushed so i am going to flush it tomorrow

    plenty of meat on the pads

    no leaks that i can see

    what else do i look for, vacuum?

    good point bushie, no change in the pedal, seems about the same as it always has been

    Yes, check the hose to the booster for a split or cracks

    Check the booster around where the M/C bolts on, they are notorious for fatigue cracking.

    I'm lucky, mines only gone in the last few months, a lot are only getting five-seven years out of the servo.

    With a cracked servo though - should loose vacuum and hence hard pedal, maybe not on the first application but soon after. (at least that was my experience)

    When my first vacuum pump died, it did not die completely. I was still getting vacuum and that had me fooled for a while. The vacuum from a new pump was much stronger and the brake performance much better.

    When my second pump died, it died completely and suddenly.
