200 tdi discovery transfer case
Is a 200 tdi transfer case the same as the v8 model of the same year?

It should bolt straight up but I believe the gear ratios are different, probably higher ratios in the V8, which may cause high speed loss of power behind the 200TDi, Regards Frank.

Interesting ,Jazzad1,that you say they are all the same .
Now I Have 3 vehicles , all with LT230 Tcases.
Vehicle 1 1988 RRC manual LT77 and LT230 with a 28DXXXXXXC s/n
Vehicle 2 is 1993 200 TDI D1 manual, R380 and LT230 with 28DXXXXXE s/n
Vehicle 3 is 1996 3.9 V8 D1 manual R380 and LT230 with 28DXXXXXD s/n
Now, Mr Ashcroft says
"You are looking for Eg. "28D123456E, we are interested in the first two and the last, i.e. we call this a "28E". Please have a look in the LT 230 Technical Section to find a list of Serial numbers / Ratios."
Therefore according to Ashcroft I would have a 28C, a 28D and a 28E
Then Mr ashcroft says theres is only a 28D ,and a 28C and 28E dont get a mention. Stuffed If can work it out !!!!
A 28D is a listed as a 1.222 ratio .
Lots of strange anomalies in the numbering Im afraid
1993 200 TDI;s were all supposed to be LT77s boxes , mine was changed to a R380 at delivery by the dealers, wasnt that nice of them !
Why is the Tcase s/n older on the 1996 model D1 than on the 1993 D1 ?
Ive also got a complete set of 1.410 high TD5 defer, range gears Ill probably use when I put the 383 Holden stroker in the 93 D1.
