STOCK COILS & LONG TRAVEL SHOCKS

Need to do the shocks on the D2 however the lift isn't going to happen just yet as i need to source adaptors for the airbags and follow up a rumour of extended length bags aparently available.
However, as I don't want to do it twice, what +50 brands are out there that can be used with currently stock springs??

    Hi Andrew,

Can't really help, but I'm going the +2" as well, as my shocks are also stuffed. I thought if I'm going to replace the shocks they may as well be a bit taller... will be installing the air bag spacers and new coils up front.

I wouldn't be too keen on using +2" shocks on the rear without spacers for fear of pulling the bags out when off road.

I ordered extended brake lines and ABS lead extensions as well, they both turned up tonight. I got in before the dollar turned south again.
    Cheers

I'm running koni heavy track +2 at the moment with standard springs.

Front springs dislocate on full extension and cross member hits shaft.

Below is comparison to stock front.

Rear is coil and brake lines end up on full droop under tension.

The shock is what stops the air spring from over extending (blowing off). By memory, there wasn’t much bag length left with the standard shock.

Remember to get shocks suited for air to go on the rear as well; they are valved differently to compensate for the characteristics of air springs.

that's the 66 bazillion dollar question as no one seems to list a STD airbag shock let alone a + size. I fitted Bilsteins to the RRC a number of years ago and although firm isn't too bad. The valving differences are generally only for the rebound with airbags which isn't too much of an issue for me and I do like it firmish just not gooly jarring!

More keen to find out what brands people have found suitable for a 2 step upgrade.

Should be a softer bump valving for SLS.

Also, don't let the bag fully extend, the bag will seperate from the top mount.

2inch Lift. I am using Dobinsons up front and Lovells from Suspension Stuff. Rears are 4x4intel spacers with Lovells also.

Better ride and articulation than sons D2 with same springs but OME shocks. IMO wouldn't waste time or money on OME for this application .

    Cheers
