Manual sunroof or the electric option? In case of the latter, check the fuses first.

There are people who spend all weekend cleaning the car.
And there are people who drive Discovery.

AFAIR all these sunroofs work by a rack and pinion arrangement where the pinion is a nylon "wire" with a gear on one side. The grease on the nylon often hardens up and then the stress on the motor gets too much and either the motor dies or the relay that runs the motor dies or the fuse blows. I would start at the fuse, then to the relay. Can you hear the motor run but no movement? If so the gears on the nylon have stripped.
If it is a webasto, which most are , there are also a couple of brackets on teh side which lift the sunroof to open it. Sometimes one breaks.
