Air leak in the system?!?
My 2003 disco td5 has deciced not to start. After many hours of playing around I have managed to get it to start by spraying aero start into inlet manifold. It starts and runs fine, it will restart with some difficulty if I try it after it has been running but leave it for more than an hour or so and you need the aero start again??? I have a fault mate msv1 and the only codes I can get out of the ecu are "(15,2)high speed crank" and "(19,6)noisy crank signal has been detected" I am going to order a new crank sensor but I thought I would ask here for any ideas
Thanks Keith

There are people who spend all weekend cleaning the car.
And there are people who drive Discovery.
Faulty fuel pump? Algae in the tank blocking fuel into the pump?

Oil in the loom at the ecu?

Doesn't worn starter contacts generate dodgy crank sensor readings and a failure to start. (assuming it isnt the crank sensor itself)
Hello,
Had the same problem it was the copper washers and seals on the injectors causing pressure so no fuel. fitted new washers no problems now.

Thanks guys, yes its starting to get a bit of oil in ecu harness again, cleaned up no change, no oil in ecu itself. Tried blocking off fuel line, pump whinges as it tries to push with the extra pressure so I think its ok, starter moter contacts a possibility (the old girl is up to 292 000 kms), Maybe I should get new injector seals/copper washers too, thanks
Thanks for all the help It was the crank angle sensor changed it and all came good
Keith
Imagine that ;-)
The diagnostic equipment sent you in the right direction
