    What oil to use in the transfer case on td5??

    Hi There,

    Not sure if Ive got the right stuff, although I bought penrite atf dx3. can i use this for transfer case oil change?

    yes...

    the tcase will be happy on anything between DEX III and 80/90

    the faster you drive it the thinner the oil needs to be, the harder you load it the thicker the oil needs to be...

    Ive sent more than one home from the track with busted seals from mud damage with up to 50% grease added to the oil but with the explicit instructions that its to be changed out as part of repairing the seals.

    I've run this for the last 40k (semi synthetic)

    TRANSAXLE 75 - Penrite Oil

    and am about to change to this on my next oil change (for diffs & transfer case) - fully synthetic.

    Full Synthetic 75W-90 Performance Smooth Shift Manual Gearbox and Transaxle Oil- Nulon Australia

    Both oils meet & exceed the required spec' for transfer case & diff's in the Td5 D2/Defender.

    .... running DXIII ATF in the LT230 transfer case of my D2 ???? .... outa my league on that one.
