Hi, I saw the post on the pressure regulator repair, but has any one recoed a fuel cooler.
If so what size were the seals?

Did mine a couple of years ago, not sure on the size.

Had to do it on a Sunday, took the old seal out, went down to "cheepa auto spares" (the only place around here that was open on a Sunday afternoon) and paid a massive 50c for an o-ring from their grab kit to suit.

    Pretty easy job.

Be sure to get Viton O rings they will last a lot longer than regular o rings.

    Hi

Relatively easy repair I removed the complete Fuel Cooler rather than doing it in-situ and used the following seals
Viton Seals - BS225 - which I bought from my local Industrial Bearings Shop

If you do not have the tool to put back the proper Landrover Clamps, good quality narrow Stainless Steel Hose clamps will do the job, just be careful not to damage/compress the little plastic locating pegs.

At the same time I washed the Fuel Cooler out as there was a large sludge build up in the cooler, to ensure good cooling and also help clean the coolant system.

A very quick and simple job

Do a search - there's plenty of info on fuel cooler repairs and even an easy way/tool to reuse the original clamps as you'll find it very difficult to get ordinary hose clamps for the required size that are narrow enough to be satisfactory.

Note that the 'special tool' (the pincers) require one half of the jaws to be ground back at a fairly acute angle to be effective.
