Well overdue TLC for a 2A
Please forgive me as I am new to any sort of forum, so not use to the way this all works.
I have decided to start a well overdue reberth of a seriers 2A short wheel base that I first learnt to drive in as a kid. It is an ex property car so not best looking but due to having been in a shed all the time I have no rust issues and I figured it deserved to be brought back to life.
The number shown on it is 24311157, so in my rough guess that makes it a 62 (I think). After having not been run for 20 years a bit of fuel and a points clean allowed it to fire once the choke was pulled, could not believe my ears, even sounds good.
The issue I am going to have is the replacement of brakes and clutch etc. Can anyone advise if should just do a straight swap out and leave as is, or is there an easy upgrade to a latter model that would be crazy not to complete? I am happy to replace all cylinders, master, slave etc, to ensure the whole system is at its best, but would like to know the other options prior to doing so.
Again I am new to the forum idea, so if I have posted in the wrong area any feed back etc would be greatly appriciated so I can correct.
Thanks in advance.

I have no record of 24311157 but vehicle 24311122c was first sold in NSW on 21/1/1967 and 24311133c was sold on 10/5/1967 so I would suggest yours is a late 1966 or early 1967 build.
Take a look at items like the carby, or any electric motor (like the starter) or electrical device and see what the date stamp reveals. Usually month and year.
All the hydraulic parts are readily available so I would just replace all the cylinders and rubber hoses rather convert it to something later.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
