Gauges aren't going to save you in recognizing oil pressure failure ... only a buzzer will give you half a chance, with the red light coming in 2cnd, giving you a smidge of "Chancey luck" save.
(IMHO) a gauge just lets you know is how the motor is holding up over the years. I have one on my 1990 RRC due to it being an old ride when I bought it, and just wanted to know the condition of the donk. Plus I blew the pressure switch in a country town, and installing a gauge was the only way to fix the problem. >>>> Driving 400k's with the oil light ON, kinda keeps you on your toes![]()
Remember .... For my 1990 3.9L V8 oil pump .... The brass fitting supplied with the aftermarket gauge does not fit ... You will have to buy a "close matched" brass fitting with the olive (clamp) joint and re-cut the (brass) thread .... 1/2" UNF from memory ... Bought and still have the dye to check, if you need to know.
Cheers
Mike
