320KW, why?
ok no the ZF 4hp22 wont handle that. but the front half of it can be regutted with the hp24 parts that'll get you close.
yes, the 4hp22 can be manualised but its a lot of work for not much gain.
Hi All
I've recently put a worked 5lt in to my disco and u'm wanting to make sure the auto doesnt break i've had the whole auto rebuilt and only done about 10 000ks on it but i'm want to put more power through it now as i'm going to turbo are supercharge the car rough figures i'm wanting are 320kw at the motor!

320 kw will roughly work out about 200 at the wheels ireckon and i reckon then it would be really fun to drive
Is there anyone that does this kind of gearbox are am i better putting a different box under it?
Thanks Again
G'day Adam this might be of help

better off getting a ZF4HP24EH tricked up from ashcrofts and get a compushift kit with it to drive it, if you want compushift do a paddle shift for it.
While still not as strong as a 4L890E much stronger than a ZF22
compushift info here:

I have spoken to "Ron Hill Automatics" on the Sunshine Coast about upgrades to the ZF Auto.
The advice I was given;
Cost wise it was around $3000 to have the box rebuilt and another $2000 for a custom built torque converter.
- Can be rebuilt with stronger internals (I think they have done one with internals from a BMW V10 or similar), the parts come out of Melbourne from memory.
- They suggest regular servicing at 40,000km intervals.
- They suggested having the torque converter built specifically to suit the engine characteristics.
even the standard torque converter in a 24 is far larger than the one in the 22
hi guys thanks for all the info
Didn't think there was that much to
At around 5 grand on top of the 2500 i've just spent on it this gear box will have cost a small fortune!
Is there anyone in melbourne that can do this kind of conversion?
Thanks
Seriously check out ashcrofts thay are very competitive including shipping from the UK
I have just sent them an email regarding this as I am interested in upgrading my box as soon as I can and using the compushift set up. In hindsite (marvelous thing that) I should have had it fitted with the new 4.6 engine at the same time
Also you may be better off selling the box you have and putting that money towards the new one
Aren't Ritters in Melbourne? they have done some good deals for me in the past
