    Torque value for tie rod end - none split pin type

    Hello,
    I bought a tie rod (front left wheel to drag link made by QH) and it does not have a split pin or castle nut, it came with self locking nut. (not Nyloc , it has a peculiar thread).

    The torque for the castle nut type is 40Nm, does anyone know what the torque is for this type of tie rod.

    I've always done those up to the same torque with a drop of Loctite 243 and never had any trouble. Really, it's the torque that keeps the nut on and the split pin is just a well-proven safety thing. The last Lemforder balljoints I bought from Dingocroft all used split pins.

    Which vehicle? The P38A has those nuts tightened to 50Nm (37 lbs. ft.)
