    In the '97 disco we bought a while ago.

    It is a very economical commuting hack - when it is running...

    It also -just- manages to tow the boat - when it doesn't overheat doing it...

    When I bought it I did have plans to put the 300Tdi into the IIA when the D1 body rusts away. No chance I will now... (thinking either a 6BD1+T or an amarok 2.0 compound turbo - both with 6-speed - now)

    why not put the SIIA body on the disco chassis

    6BD1...isnt that a huge heavy donk?

    Engine swap is much easier to engineer than a body swap, and a disco chassis would limit you to tiny wheels...
